BHC was involved in one of the largest education construction projects within Scotland. Appointed by Robertson Construction and Hub North Scotland, BHC was responsible for supplying, fabricating and erecting steelwork for the new £55 million Inverurie Community Campus.
The exciting new community campus houses a range of facilities including a school to accommodate 1,600 pupils, community and sports facilities including a swimming pool, offices, I.T Rooms and music rooms.
BHC began on site early June 2019. As part of the sub-contract, BHC was responsible for the supply, fabrication and erection of over 5,300 pieces of hot-rolled steelwork. BHC prepared fabricated drawings for our fabrication purposes and designed steel to steel connections. Over 9,460m2 metal decking was installed with Combi Safe Edge Protection was installed around areas.
The community facility features a 6-lane swimming pool, for which BHC was responsible for the installation of Glulam rafters and cold rolled purlins to withstand a C4 environment.
All labour on site was employed directly by BHC. Additionally, we were able to provide a range of site plant, cranage and transport which was utilised allowing maximum efficiency and management of the project.
