BHC Ltd. were subcontracted by Balfour Beatty to provide the structural steelwork for the new Calderhead High School, Shotts.
The new state-of-the-art school is a beam and column build with a pitched roof and has a wide range of traditional teaching areas as well as enhanced leisure facilities, including a dance studio, fitness suite and library resource.
BHC provided 458 tonnes of hot rolled steel, 25 tonnes of cold rolled steel and approx. 4,246 m2 of metal decking. The project was erected using our own in-house steel erection squads, metal decking squads, mobile cranes and mobile elevated working platforms.
