Goodrich Phase 2 consisted of a Portal Frame extension to the existing Goodrich Facility that BHC designed and built in 2003.
The project involved the supply and erection of a 90m triple span portal frame, 131.75m long with a typical bay size of 7.75m.
Structural Engineer, URS, adopted BHC’s design principles that were previously used in the construction of Phase 1, to keep the construction costs to a minimum as BHC provided a very competitive design for the initial phase.
BHC supplied and erected hot rolled steelwork and contractor designed cold-formed purlins and side rails for the project.
Utilising our own in-house steel erection squads, mobile cranes and mobile elevated working platforms augmented with hired plant, BHC was able to complete the erection of the hot rolled portal frame steelwork and cold rolled purlins/side rails using three erection squads within the specified programme and budget.
