BHC have successfully completed the construction of a new equestrian facility with both indoor and outdoor riding arenas.
The building comprised of several key features to enhance the accessibility and functionality of the site for the particular building users.
The Ravelrig (RDA) is now a state-of-the-art facility suited to all weather conditions, providing therapeutic and recreational riding lessons and opportunities to the local and wider disabled community. The project commenced with a substantial cut-and-fill exercise in order to establish the arena platforms and footprints for the enclosing structures.
BHC’s value-engineered steel frame design facilitated the erection of a 100 tonne steel portal frame structure on concrete foundations, encapsulated by fibre cement roof cladding with GPR roof lights, and ventilated wall cladding sheets, within an 8-week programme period.
Leading from the indoor facility to the outdoor arena, the main entrance of this facility has been modified to include a full-sized accessibility ramp to enable all users of this facility to access the internal spaces confidently and comfortably.
All works for both the interior and exterior of this project was carried out by BHC’s own in-house construction teams, supplemented by our external accredited supply chains.
