BHC Ltd were appointed as the Main Contractors for the Highland Colour Coaters extension. This included the construction of a new multi-storey office and storage building with the associated welfare facilities and an extension to their existing warehouse.
As the main contractors, BHC Ltd completed all works using their own directly employed workforce. This included providing structural steelwork, industrial cladding, metal decking and in-situ concrete flooring.
All this work was carried out as Highland Colour Coaters continued their day-to-day operations without losing a single day’s production throughout the 11-month process.
The extension work proved to be very complex as existing works were also on going during this timeframe. The extension work consisted of Portal Frames with cladding and all the associated groundworks. The external groundworks comprised of a new foul and surface water drainage system, road surfacing, re-locating the weighbridge and paving etc.
The office building was constructed using the latest technology in building works including High Value Insulation with Rainscreen cladding and underfloor heating.
