Collegelands is an exciting, mixed-use quarter extending into the Merchant City area on the east side of Glasgow. Situated just a 5 minute walk from the University of Strathclyde, City of Glasgow College and Glasgow Caledonian University with the University of Glasgow located just a short subway ride away. This is a perfect location for a central accommodation space.
Phase 2 of the Collegelands development involved the construction of a new student accommodation block, comprising on 257 studio bedrooms, a gym, cinema room and games room.
BHC supplied, fabricated and erected hot 493 tonnes rolled structural steelwork, cold formed purlins, Xm2 of metal decking, Xm3 of concrete and the associated safety netting.
Throughout the project BHC utilized their own site, craneage and transport, allowing maximum efficiency and management throughout.
The concrete works of this project were completed three weeks ahead of schedule.
