We are looking for an experienced Hydraulic Press Brake Operator to join our production team, working on a Morgan Rushworth PBXS CNC hydraulic press brake.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, programming and operating the machine to produce accurate folded components from engineering drawings, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency.
Main Responsibilities:
- Set, programme and operate a Morgan Rushworth PBXS CNC hydraulic press brake.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, bend sequences and production information.
- Select suitable tooling, dies and bending methods for each job.
- Carry out accurate folding of mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and other sheet metal materials as required.
- Check finished components against drawings using measuring equipment such as verniers, squares, angle gauges and tape measures.
- Make machine adjustments to achieve correct dimensions, angles and repeatable quality.
- Work to production schedules while maintaining safe working practices.
- Carry out basic daily machine checks and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
- Keep the work area clean, organised and compliant with health and safety standards.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience operating CNC hydraulic press brakes, ideally on Morgan Rushworth PBXS or similar machines.
- Ability to set up press brake tooling and produce accurate bends to drawing specification.
- Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Confident reading technical drawings and working to tolerances.
- Experience using CNC controls, graphical programming or multi-axis press brake systems would be beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- A safety-focused approach and willingness to follow company procedures.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with ESA CNC controls or similar touchscreen press brake controls.
- Knowledge of offline programming or working from CAD/CAM-generated bend data.
- Overhead crane or manual handling experience.
- Experience in a busy fabrication, manufacturing or production environment.
