The Lagg Distillery is clad in a mixture of Scottish Larch, Natural Cavity Stonewalling and textured Pre-cast Concrete. The roof is finished with a Bauder Sedum Blanket Grass, containing a variety of plants that will change colour throughout the seasons.

BHC were also responsible for the construction of three bonded warehouses that will be used to store the Single Malt Whisky.

Celebrating International Youth Day at BHC

Today we celebrate the importance of young men and women as essential partners in change. BHC recognise the need to support and encourage young people at every step of the way to enable them to gain skills for life.

We offer the British Constructional Steelwork Association’s CRAFT scheme – an apprenticeship launched to reverse the nationwide shortage of apprentices within the steel construction industry. The apprenticeship offers a fantastic learning experience, giving young people a chance to put their skills into practice while gaining more confidence within a real working environment.

Each year BHC welcome young people from the local surrounding areas to attend our Apprentice Open Day. The 2019 open day resulted in the hiring of 20 first-year apprentices.

1st Year Apprentices Begin at BHC

After the success of BHC’s Annual Apprentice Open Day – held on Wednesday 12th June 2019 –  we have welcomed 20 new apprentices into the company.

BHC offers the British Constructional Steelwork Association’s CRAFT Apprenticeship. The modular-based training programme is delivered by BHC’s own nominated BCSA Training Validators who will mentor and guide the apprentices through the 4-year apprenticeship.

Over the past six years, Routes to Work South have supported BHC with the funding of Health & Safety training and salary funding.

As part of the apprentices’ induction, they were given a tour of BHC’s largest project to date – Edinburgh St James.

BHC are excited to see the new apprentices begin their careers within the company, where they will develop skills for life benefiting our clients and the local community.

Capital Square is a premium office development within Edinburgh’s city centre. Once finished, the 122,000 ft2 building will be able to accommodate up to 1,400 people.
